The 30th Summer Olympics held in London ended on Aug.12 (Sun). It was 19 days long of the game schedule. There is 8 hours time lag between Tokyo and London. Therefore, some of people might suffer from lack of sleep. The athletes who could get the medal as expected and others no medal against expectation, however, we who were cheering them from Japan got lots of inspiration and courage from them. Anyway, participation is more significant at the Olympic Games, I agree. However they must regret they could not come into their own in the game. Of course, it is subject to the condition of the day to win or lose. It is a sure thing that the dairy training would ensure them ability and confidence for victory. It is necessary for them to join the international game to acquire the sense of the international game. It will give them the wider view of international games with the overseas athletes. It will be a secret of overcoming the pressure of fighting in International games like Olympic. 柔道 is no longer 柔道 but Judo.
Sport is to train the strong fighting spirit as well. People of my generation would feel uneasy when we see the young athletes to express their joy for winning to a great extent as we were taught that we should be not proud of the wining and not get excited but be moderate. It should be up-to-date in expression of young athletes. There are 302 events in 26 games. I learnt that the greetings of events before and after were exchanged among athletes. People who could attend the Olympic Games would be polite. Most of athletes would praise the competitors after match. Such scene would give us a good impression. I understand very well that IOC would take care of propriety of athletes. It was quite impressive to see that all judges would make sure of greeting each other before the game and then judge always asked the loser to shake hands with the winner as the loser is usually unwilling to do so. Meanwhile, most athletes would take care of the losers and pay their respect to their losers for their effort in the past 4 years. It would be meaningful to see charity spirit among competitors in the Olympic Games which would pull at our heartstrings even if we were watching it far from there. The Olympic Games is the essential to respect and to care of the losers and fair play spirit. It is not useless to host the international festival like Olympic Games attended by 11,000 people over 204 countries and areas. Saudi Arabian, Qatar, Brunei dispatched of Islamic countries dispatched the woman athletes which is first time for them. Islamic Commandment would not allow the woman to attend the Olympic Games in the past. Therefore, it would be the epoch-making event to these Islamic countries. The Olympic Game has been contributing to the world to change. Therefore, I am confident that we would contribute to the world through the Olympic Games in the future by adding Japanese flavor like propriety, fair play spirit and hospitality of “Japanese Omotenashi”.
Containerization would grow in peace. The number of container is 32.15 million teu as of the end of 2011 which is 8.5% up against the end of 2010 which is 7.5% up against the end of 2009. The growth of Containerization has developed steadily for the past 50 years since the late of 1960. It would grow in connection with the growth of the world economy.
The major leasing companies don’t seem to know what to do with large new container stock in China factories at present which they ordered in this spring. These new containers had been concluded L/Ts with shipping lines from March to June. However, the shipping lines could mange with the current in-fleet after July on so that they seem to have gotten behind in their pick-up of L/Ts. As a result some of them would move to cancel L/Ts once they fixed.
Shipping lines would forecast their demand incorrectly. Some leasing company would take this situation seriously and would reduce new production inventory in the factories by lowering L/T rate and would supply them as per MLA(Master Lease). However, the factory inventory in China would be kept around 500,000 teu which is the same as the last month. The major leasing companies would not invest money for containers unless their factory inventory would be reduced to the comfortable level even if they have plenty of investment money. Meantime, their utilization ration would be kept around 94~97% these days.
Shipping lines and leasing companies would not place an order for new containers with container makers from Aug onwards. Therefore, the container price would come down to around $2,400 per 20f. However, the price would go down if you actually order. It would be possible that container makers would adjust their production and might even stop their production in order to stop the price decline.
Sep and Oct usually are the demand season. If there is no peak season demand occurred in Sep and Oct it would be a serious problem to the leasing companies how to overcome the winter season with large new container inventory in the factories after Nov onwards.
The medium sized and small leasing companies who have an ample fund and would like to intend to expand their fleet could make this pinch a chance in collaboration with makers who really need new container order. However, they have to prepare for the worst to keep the new containers lying for 6 months. Shipping lines could not afford to order their own production. However, they would secure the necessary quantity of lease when the market suddenly changes. They will expect leasing companies to supply them with necessary quantity as soon as possible and at the competitive rate. Container price would be cheap and more competitive in the price than the containers own by major leasing companies which are idling in the factories now. Therefore, they will be requested to carefully place an order for new containers with makers judging from the major leasing companies’ action.
On July 24 (Tue) we moved to the new office and we received many encouraging messages from our customers and our small office has been filled with gorgeous orchid potted plants and foliage plants at present. In order to meet our customers’ expectation and to get them willingly to do business with us we would like to devote ourselves to offering better service to our customers so that we could earn the gold medal some day.
